ICSAtlanta will be changing our uniform requirements, officially beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.  In order to provide an adequate phase-out period, we wanted to announce this change as soon as possible. Beginning in the 2021-2022 school year, khaki pants, shorts, and scooters will no longer be allowed as part of ICSAtlanta’s school uniform. This week in class, we started our PYP unit 5. This unit is all about economics. We are learning about needs and wants. We are also talking about producers and consumers as well as goods and services. We are talking about different occupations and are seeing which provide goods and which provide services. In Math, we will learn about coins and focus mainly on the place value aspect of coins by trading ten pennies for a dime and two nickels for a dime etc.

We talked about the letter B,b in German Language Arts this week. The vocabulary words for this week are: das Brot (bread), der Bauarbeiter (construction worker), braun (brown), die Biene (bee), der Baum (tree), das Baumhaus (tree house), der Bauch (stomach), der Brunnen (well), die Banane (banana), die Butter (butter), der Bär (bear).

This week in class, we are finishing up the final unit 4 assessment which is a shadow puppet show in groups of 2. The students are coming up with their own story and are making their own props. They have to use sound effects that make sense in their story line and present it in front of the class. They have to use elements of time and we will also assess measurement.

Next week, we will start or new PYP unit and it will be all about economics. We will talk about needs and wants and move on to producers and consumers, We will learn about money and how to save and spend. We will continue with place value in Math as well.
